Based on a play by Edward Albee. The film depicts a chance encounter between two men in Central Park in New York City. The down-and-out Jerry and the successful businessman Peter engage in a lively conversation that reveals the men's desperate loneliness. The scene for the Norwegian version is set in Tøyenparken in Oslo.
